SUMMARY:Chapelton of Elsick 10K Sunday 16th July 2023
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the fourth Chapelton of Elsick 10K – an accurately measured route. This is an undulating multi terrain race through the beautiful Elsick House estate\, starting and finishing in the village of Chapelton near Newtonhill. Please read our race notes thoroughly to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable race. The majority of the route is on tarmac with some farm tracks and a short grass section\, and remains unchanged from 2019. \nAll standards of runners are very welcome! \nCourse Records: Robbie Simpson 32:25 (2019)\, Jennifer Donaldson 39:15 (2022). \nRegistration: Will take place from 09:00 – 10:30am at The Hut\, Greenlaw Road\, Chapelton. All pre-entered runners must register on the day to collect their race number and buff. There will be an option of a bag drop too. \nChip Timing: This years race is chip timed\, provided by Thistle Timing. \nRace Briefing: There will be a race safety brief at 10:55am. \nStart Time: The race will start prompt from near The Hut at 11am. \nRace Finish: The race will finish near The Hut. \nWater Station: This will be just after the 5k point. \nFirst Aid: There will be First Aid at both the Start/Finish area and at the Water Station. \nHeadphones: We cannot permit the use of in-ear headphones\, as part of the route is on a single carriageway road that is not closed to traffic. Bone conducting headphones and medically prescribed earphones are permitted\, the use of all other in-ear headphones will lead to disqualification. \nRefreshments: Available at Hume Square after the race for all runners\, and available to purchase during the race for spectators. The Boxes @ Chapelton offer a variety of food and drinks. \nToilets: Available close to start/finish area. There will be no showers. \nPrize Giving: Will take place from 12:30pm at Hume Square. \nPrize Categories: Trophies (and £50 £40 £30 respectively) for 1st\, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female finishers. Trophies (and cash prize) for 1st Male and Female under 18 and 1st\, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female over 40\, over 50 & over 60. The Chapelton Residents Shield will be awarded to the first Male and Female Chapelton Resident to finish. All finishers will receive a unique medal and buff. \nEntry: £22. This is online entry only at Entry Central\, and entries will close on the 30th June. \nEntry Transfer: If you can no longer take part in the event\, we are allowing transfers which must be carried out via your own Entry Central account by our deadline of 30th June 2023. \nKids Fun Runs: At 10am there will be a 100m toddler dash for under 5s\, and a 1km race for primary school children\, organised by Friends of Newtonhill (FON). DESCRIPTION:Great little hill race. \nSaturday 1st of July 2023 will see the 7th year of the Clashmach Hill Race. The race was resumed in 2017 after a break of 25 years. The route starts from the car park at Huntly Auction Mart\, following the minor road upwards until it meets the path that meanders to the trig point at the top of the hill. The runners then take the same route back down to the finish line at the Mart. \n  \n
